History of Mr. SubmarineThe very first Mr. Submarine opened its doors in 1975 as a kiosk in the indoor amusement park/shopping mall experiment Old Chicago. The mall may have failed but Mr. Submarine never looked back, soon after opening three more locations. Faced with a growing demand for Mr. Submarine sandwiches, it became clear that the best way to solve this problem and allow the system to grow was to transform the family business in to a family operated franchise.What Sets Mr. Submarine Apart From Other Sub ShopsOur food rocks the competition! At Mr. Submarine we slice our produce and meats fresh, daily; there's nothing fresh about cutting open a vacuum sealed bag of presliced produce. Our quality vendors include Vienna, Hormel, Jennie-O, Purdue and Bongards (to name a few) and let's not forget the bread. We are sandwich experts, not bakers, so we have our fresh baked bread delivered daily by the bread experts, The Turano Baking Company. We have great menu options (and menu flexibility) at affordable prices and most of our locations are open late night! You won't find french fries at any other sub chain in Chicago, only at Mr. Submarine.No Experience NecessaryNo previous managerial or fast food experience is necessary in order to qualify as a Mr. Submarine franchisee. We provide on site training at a Mr. Submarine location (the best classroom there is), where you will be taught the technical, promotional, sales, customer relations and managerial aspects of owning and operating your own Mr. Submarine store. Be Your Own BossWe are looking for hardworking, motivated individuals who want to run a "hands on" business. In today's economy there are no job guarantees. Wouldn't you rather work your tail off for yourself and not your boss? Do you want to know what It's like? We can put you in touch with current franchisees and they can give you a behind the scenes look. Take a tour of their operations and find out what it's really like to have your own business.
